It’s their only escape from crushing poverty, and it’s wonderfully fortunate that they gain fame and prestige in the process. But not all boxers fight for eminence and fortune. Some boxers actually fight because they just want to fit into place in the sport.   Read more…

2ND President’s Cup 2006 all set

By: Toto Turno

The DMC Dart Club gears up for the coming 2nd President’s Cup Dart Tournament on October of this year. The said event serves as one of the highlights of the birthday celebration of Atty. Alberto P. Concha, Sr. (DMCCFI School President) on October 21, 2006.

Members of the club, who are composed mostly of DMC faculty, staff and students, are very excited for the coming tournament. Such tournament would also serve as a break for the very hectic first semester of the school.

The format of the game will be KOC (killers, 501 & Choice), which means that the 1st game in every set is Killers. The 2nd game is 501 and the deciding game if necessary is through a coin-toss and the winner will chose what game to be played (Killers or 501). The first thrower of the 1st game in every set will be decided again by a coin-toss. The loser will be the 1st thrower of the 2nd game. And if the deciding game is necessary, another coin-toss will determine the first thrower.

Mr. Nick Martinez, the school’s Sports Coordinator wants this event to be more successful than the 1st President’s Cup. Defending champion of the tournament was Toto Turno (singles), Alfred Juson and Toto Turno & (doubles).
