With extraordinary success, the DMC College Foundation proudly hosted a region-wide Java Education and Development Initiative Training at the campus’s College of Computer Studies on April 3-7, 2006 in a five-day intensive technical training on the latest of Java Technology as applied to effective college instruction.

The quest is finally over as the Miss DMC beauty pageant 2006 was concluded last August 25 at Open Field of DMC College Foundation. It was an evening of magic, beauty and glamour.
Supporters of the eight young and lovely women were breathless with anticipation as the candidates paraded their beauty in the various categories of the pageant. Banners and streamers were raised and waved as the crowds cheered their support for their candidates, who represent the various departments of DMC.
DMC SCIENCE HIGH FRESHMAN WINS
Mercy Dale Borja Regencia, first year student of DMC Science High School, outshone all other participants from different secondary schools of the city in the Editorial Writing Contest (English Category) during the Zamboanga del Norte Press Club City Schools Press Conference on September 2 & 3, 2006 at Miputak East Central School, Dipolog City.
The annual conference/competition sponsored by the ZN Press Club is attended by all secondary schools of the city including Saint Mary’s Academy, Saint Vincent’s College, Zamboanga del Norte National High School among others, which send their best and brightest students to challenge their skills in composition writing (English and Filipino categories) in the fields of Editorial, News, Copyreading/Headline Writing, Feature, Sports and Photography. NURSING ARTS CENTER FORMALLY LAUNCHED
With proud flourish, the Administration of DMC College Foundation recently announced the successful completion of one of its biggest project, the ultramodern Nursing Arts Center, Zamboanga del Norte’s first ever simulated hospital training facility and unquestionably the most important laboratory of the College of Nursing of DMCCFI.

2ND President’s Cup 2006 all set

The DMC Dart Club gears up for the coming 2nd President’s Cup Dart Tournament on October of this year. The said event serves as one of the highlights of the birthday celebration of Atty. Alberto P. Concha, Sr. (DMCCFI School President) on October 21, 2006.
Members of the club, who are composed mostly of DMC faculty, staff and students, are very excited for the coming tournament. Such tournament would also serve as a break for the very hectic first semester of the school.
The format of the game will be KOC (killers, 501 & Choice), which means that the 1st game in every set is Killers. The 2nd game is 501 and the deciding game if necessary is through a coin-toss and the winner will chose what game to be played (Killers or 501). The first thrower of the 1st game in every set will be decided again by a coin-toss. The loser will be the 1st thrower of the 2nd game. And if the deciding game is necessary, another coin-toss will determine the first thrower.
Mr. Nick Martinez, the school’s Sports Coordinator wants this event to be more successful than the 1st President’s Cup. Defending champion of the tournament was Toto Turno (singles), Alfred Juson and Toto Turno & (doubles).
BSN IV SOARS AT FOUNDING ANNIVERSARY SPORTS
The Exelsiors, consisting of Level IV BS Nursing Students of DMC College Foundation, prevailed as the overall champion of the 32nd Founding Anniversary Sports Festival held at the college campus on August 21-26, 2006. The overall 1st runner up was the Avalanche Team, followed by the BSN III.
This grand accomplishment by the senior students of BSN boosted their confidence and contributed hugely to their supreme title as overall champion of the entire 32nd Founding Anniversary Festival, in combination with their triumph at the Ms. DMC pageant as well as the Cheerdance competition, both of which had large percentages in the total tabulation of points. DMC GEARS UP FOR PAASCU ACCREDITATION
Dipolog Medical Center College Foundation, Inc. takes the initial step towards deregulation by actively pursuing its application for accreditation with the Philippine Association of Accredited Schools, Colleges and Universities (PAASCU).
Reaffirming its Candidate Status granted by PAASCU last year after submission of all requirements directly to PAASCU’s Main Office in Manila, the College prepares for the foremost requirement, the Institutional Self-Survey, which is a lengthy, complicated process involving virtually every aspect of the school.
Dr. Herminia Torres, PAASCU Board of Director and Accreditor, conducted a two-day orientation at the DMCCFI Main Library on July 29-30 this year, elaborating on the step-by-step accreditation process involving all weighty areas of the school’s overall management. Dr. Torres discussed the Self-Survey, starting from the formation of Committees down to the submission of the reports to the PAASCU office one month prior to an informal pre-survey visit to the school to be conducted by five or six accreditors who would corroborate the data on the pre-survey.
406 STUDENTS ENDOWED WITH CAP AND BADGE

Four hundred and six students of the Dipolog Medical Center College Foundation, Inc. 9DMCCFI) received and accepted their caps and badges during the 14th Candlelighting Ceremony held at Saint Joseph the Spouse of Mary Church, Galas, Dipolog City last July 28, 2005.
The ceremony is a prerequisite for all third year Nursing students as they marvel the challenges of hospital duty come August 2005. The Cap and Badge is also a commemoration of their tedious job and hard work during the past two and a half years of their lives as student nurses. Read more…
AVP ADMIN REPRESENTS REGION NON DEREGULATED HEIS IN CHEDS SEMINAR ON QUALITY ASSURANCE
Accepting the invitation from CHED and having been selected to represent all non-deregulated HEIS of the region, Gerald T. Concha, AVP- Administration of DMCCFI, attended the meeting- orientation on institutional monitoring and evaluation for quality assurance of Higher educational Institutions (IQUAME) on August 12, 2005 at Crown Regency Hotel, Cebu City.
